Karenza & Her Babies

Today Randy had tons to do (football meetings, and kids to train), so Karenza and I were on our own. We called Mom and Dad this morning and she talked my mom into making her pancakes and sausage (her favorite). She had already had a two pieces of toast. I don't think it took too much convincing though. We were at Mom and Dad's a little after 10:00am! Mom and I didn't know if we should call Holly because we didn't know how last night went and we didn't want to wake anyone in case they were sleeping. We finally caved and called Holly. She wanted to run some errands. So Mom and I ran over and took her to a few places and Jer and Cass stayed home. While Karenza went with Dad to run errands. Tonight should go much better for Holly. She has now an extra swaddling blanket and some more bottles as bottle feeding is going so much better for both Addison and Holly. When we got back from doing her errands Addison actually was just waking up for her feeding. She started to fuss and not really cry, but seemed content. We unwrapped her so I could really look at her (and to get her up, cause if you feed her right away she falls asleep and doesn't eat). She was so alert and was looking around. She looks so different when she has her eyes open. Still so perfect and beautiful. Last night Holly said Addison did wonderful. She sleeps 4 hours at a time (amazing huh?), and Holly slept in the recliner in the living room. She has a video baby monitor, and that thing is amazing! She said tonight she may have to turn the sound off because she hears every little squeak and move. If she cries she still will be able to hear it because the nursery isn't far off from the living room. So Addison did wonders last night but Holly woke up at every little noise. It will just take time for her to get into a routine. They both are doing great! Of course Cassidy had a cute little dress picked out for her today. Karenza and Dad soon showed up and Karenza was all excited to show me what Papa bought her! She has this little box, and she pulls out a little real magnify glass! She said "I gotta look for clues!" I said what is that, and why did you ask Papa to buy that for you? She said "Mom, it's a violation!" I said "what?" She said "It's my violation!" It finally clicked that it's from Lou & Lou Safety Patrol on the Disney channel. It's only on for about 5 minutes between shows and tells you all about safety things, and they have a magnify glass to look for clues that "violate" the safety rules! So she has been using it all afternoon! Maybe get a picture of her using it tomorrow. Her imagination never ends!
And below is a picture of what my living room/coffee table is turning into be. Ever since Addison was born Karenza has been playing more and more with her babies. She has her babies high chair out in the living room, and has dug deep in her toy box to dig out her babies, clothes, diaper bags, diapers, bottles, ect that she hasn't played with in a while. It's cute to see her play with her 'Baby Alive'. She plays with her so differently now. I hear her say things that I said to Addison this afternoon. Kind of funny. She definitely will be a great big sister when it's her turn! I better sign off because I have a mess in my living room that I need to make Karenza clean up before she goes to bed soon.

The Will's Are Home

Addison and Holly went home today about 5:00pm. Karenza and I were ahead of them and took all their flowers, balloons, and gifts in the truck. Addison was just finishing up eating one last time before they headed home. She was dressed in such a cute little dress. Holly has pictures on her camera (I forgot mine today, at home on the charger!). I will post once I get them from her. Anyway, Karenza and I were ahead of them and put balloons outside to welcome Addie home. We brought everything in the house for them. I had Holly's camera ready for when they came home. She was wide awake for the whole ride home, and even on her little tour of the upstairs of their house. Funny thing is she didn't fuss or anything, and she wasn't swaddled in a blanket (her favorite thing). Once Holly took her out of her car seat and swaddled her she was out! If she is that easy going she is going to be a wonderful baby! I left about 6:30pm and let them know I am only a phone call away! I know you are reading this Holly so please call and use me!! Now that I don't have a job in a week I can be there in two minutes! :-) Below is a link of her picture on the hospital website. So cute and adorable!

New Pictures of Karenza

New pictures of my girl! This was her last night getting ready to go to the University of Mary game with her Dad. Notice she changes shoes throughout the pictures, and can't give me no smile when she is eating a cookie. She sure seems to be getting taller these last few weeks. I keep looking at her 3 year old pictures we had taken, and she is getting to look more and more older then that picture. Can't believe she will be 4 soon! She is so beautiful.

Addison Anne - 24 hours old

Here are some pictures of today. Such a wonderful baby! She looks bigger in pictures, but I assure you she is just a little peanut. The outfit Cassidy and I put her in today was for premie babies! It fit her perfect. Cassidy combed her hair, and she loves Cassidy. Addison looks for Cassidy's voice when she walks around. It is the cutest thing. I got to hold her a lot today! I can't wait until in the morning to get up there to do it all over again!! Holly is doing great. Waited a bit too long to take some main medication, and was kind of in pain when I left tonight so hopefully the nursery will keep Addison for most of the night so Holly can get some rest while she can! Another wonderful and thankful day!

Addison Anne Will is born....

Addison is finally here! After a whirl wind few days for Holly (and Jer & Cass). She actually went to the doctor yesterday. She was having braxton hicks really bad, and just wasn't quite sure. They checked her and she wasn't dilated at all. She went home yesterday and rested yesterday afternoon. She said she woke up at about 1am and her contractions were about every 11 minutes apart. She eventually called labor and delivery at about 6am and they told her that she should probably come in. When she got there she was dilated to a 4 already!! They got there about 7:15am. Since she was in labor they had to give her medicine to stop the contractions, but she could still feel them. Poor thing! Addison Anne Will made her debut at 9:27am she weighed 7lbs 9oz and was 20 inches long. She looks like Cassidy did when she was born. She is so cute, and just a little peanut. She seems to be such a good baby so far. Holly fed her for about an hour and she was still sleeping when I left at 5:30 tonight. But it has been a big day! Everyone is healthy and everything looks good. Thank goodness! What a beautiful day in our family today. We were truly blessed with another healthy baby. Below are some of the pictures I took today. Enjoy!

The Corporate World

I don't even know how to begin this post or where my thoughts will lead me, but I have now had 24 hours to have this all soak in. I was informed on Friday that my position can no longer be home-based. Do to security reasons they feel that this position needs to be in-house. They wanted me to move back to Washington. That was out of the question. I have 30 days to be fully terminated of the date they notify me. So I have to be done by Sept. 22nd. I also will receive 13 weeks of severance pay, and help getting my resume ready and help me search for jobs. At first I was shocked, overwhelmed, and the tears just started to flow.

I have been at this job for 6 1/2 years and it's all I know. I have been doing this ever since I've been back to ND. It's worked for this long what's the big deal? I was really over whelmed and shocked when they informed me on Friday. It's been a crazy few months at work really, and I had been contemplating at looking for jobs else where. But, the pay always kept me there. I wasn't happy these past few months and didn't really enjoy what I was doing any more. I felt like I was getting burnt out. When I started with this company we were just Applied Discovery. I think I was the 25th employee hired or something like that, a low number any way. It was a small company and it was fun and I enjoyed going to work. Not only fun, but it challenged me to work hard. Work hard and you get rewarded. I started out as a receptionist through a temp agency when I first moved to Seattle (Jan. 2002). I worked through this temp agency up until May 27th (my dad's birthday) when I was hired by the company as the Office Coordinator. I held this position and assisted HR, Marketing, and the Accounting Dept. This led me to being hired within the Accounting Dept in March 2004. Which is where I have been ever since. Right before I started working in Accounting we were bought out by a company called LexisNexis. Which is a huge world-wide company! Things haven't ever really been the same since then. Things got so corporate and political. But, I loved who I worked with and I loved what I was doing. I just rolled with the punches. There were just us four girls in my dept. My office mate, Jenelle, her and I would always have 80's music blasting and when I moved to ND she said it wasn't the same listening to the music. I missed seeing the "girls" when I started working from home. It's been almost a year since I've been to Seattle. I went last Sept for a week and it was so fun to just be back. Although I still felt a little out of place. After you are gone for so long and come back I felt like the new employee. My manager's position was eliminated this past month. She had been on maternity leave since March. In that mean time of her being on leave since March I have had two bosses. Which neither were communicated to me that her position was being eliminated or that I was to be reporting to someone else. When I had my meeting on Friday, they had to ask if I was in North or South Dakota? Boy, did I feel a little out of touch!

When my grandpa past away they called me in a frantic as I was walking out the door to his funeral, because they didn't know how to do a credit memo or ask anyone else if they knew how. I thought to myself it really hasn't gotten that bad has it? I don't think I will be having to train anyone on my responsibilities because this is going to be such a quick transition. I don't think they really thought this through, but who am I to say? I have been doing this position for so long there are little things that I do day in and day out that I haven't written down. When my Grandpa passed away it was almost during month end, and I thought to my self that what if something would happen to where I would need to be gone during month end. It would be nice to just email something to someone a spreadsheet of everything that needed to be completed. I started working on this last month (another sign - see below).

It's hard to change when you get in such a routine. But, now that I have had 24 hours for this all to soak in I am looking for the positive in it all. I need to I guess. I have been with this company since I've graduated college. It's been my only job out of college. The people I once use to work with are no longer there or have moved else where within the company. The one's I enjoyed going to work with and enjoyed being part of their team. I always was thinking back in my mind when will my time be up. Will it be my decision or will it be theirs? Six and half years maybe it's time to move on and start a new adventure. Maybe give up Accounting and try Human Resources? I am a big believer in signs and it is just weird that I hadn't opened up or revised my resume since 2004 (when I updated it for the Accounts Receivable position), but I opened it up a few weeks ago. It still had my old Everett, WA address and phone number. It still had "Miranda Robinson" as my name. My Dad has wanted my sister and I to always think of some business we wanted to run and he would invest in us. My sisters last day was Friday and has now started her maternity leave. Coincidence that we are both on leave? Maybe this is a good time to think what we would like to do. Do some research and maybe start putting together a business plan? I told her on Friday that we both are on leave, but that she has the baby! :-)

I don't know what the rest of the year or years bring for me, but I do have to be thankful for my family and friends. Who are always supportive and encouraging. Within this company I have made some life long friends. Who gave me an opportunity and work experience for what I will be able to use for what ever comes next. They are very special people to me (you know who you two are!) They believed in me and supported me when I new very little in this field. They taught me such valuable lessons that I will forever carry for the rest of my life. By know means am I an expert in what I do, but I do feel more comfortable, confident, and valuable then I did six years and half years ago. Thank you for that!

We will see what Monday brings for me. I was informed at about 2:00pm on Friday and I took the rest of the day off. They said we would re-group on Monday. For now it's "business as usual" is what they said. Not sure how I can continue as "business as usual" knowing what I know or I guess not knowing what I know. But, I am a little excited for a change. Although most of the times its hard and uncomfortable it is sometimes for the best. So we'll see where the next few months take me.

Hope all is well with everyone else!

Quick Update

Just a quick update. I am still organizing and trying to download my pictures from camping. I had them all downloaded last night and accidently closed out of it before I saved. So anyway, I will try again later.

I wanted to write to tell you about mine and Karenza's conversation yesterday on the way home from daycare yesterday. I was waiting at a light, and had the radio on. Then Karenza says "I am not going to repeat THAT word!" I said, "What word?" "The bad word that they just said on the radio!" I said "Oh, they didn't say a bad word." She said "Yes, they did and I am not repeating it!" I said "You can tell Mommy, because they don't say bad words on the radio." She said "Well, Mom they said 'make'. I said "Well that isn't a bad word." Karenza said "Well, Mom, you always tell me I can't say make -me!" I started to laugh out loud, and said "Well those two words put together ARE very naughty, but you can say them separately and by them selves." She didn't quite understand what I was explaining to her, so we'll see how she takes my explanation. What a kid.

This time next week we will have a new baby in the family. I can't wait. I will also do another post either later tonight or tomorrow with pictures from our camping trip.

And We're Off

Karenza and I are all packed and ready to go so that when Randy gets off work in about a hour we will be able to just hit the road. It's only about a 45 minute drive to the camp ground. Karenza is so excited. She had two bags packed - one for toys, and the other for clothes. She has her barbies in there and was about to put the barbie car in when I asked if we really needed to take the car. She agreed we didn't need it, and then said "I will leave my barbie house behind too!" I was like wow, she was planning on taking a lot of things. I said we probably won't even have time to play with barbies. we are so excited to just be getting away for a couple days it's not far, but far enough away for us. This camping reminds me of when I was a kid. We always went to Medora. Such good memories as a kid, and I want to be able to give that to Karenza. I have my camera packed already so I will be able to share pictures with you when I get back.

BTW - I am still really frustrated with my work and computer. It still is not working properly! I have put in a webstar. Which is where if we have any issues we go to this intranet and put in what issue we are having and what impact it is having on our work flow. My manager had to create a ticket for me as I couldn't access it to start with. I was able to check on it once and it hasn't been assigned to anyone yet! I have even followed up on it, and still no response. Not sure what it is going to take! I am not sure who is even in the IT Dept anymore since I left working in the office a few years ago. They don't want you calling when you have issues you are suppose to create a "ticket" in Webstar and they will supposedly assign it to someone who can help. I never have luck no matter when I create a ticket. I ALWAYS have to call or followup. It's ridiculous. Anyway, enough venting I am going on a mini-vacation! Nothing a couple drinks can't cure or relax! Have a great weekend everyone. School is starting pretty soon! Yikes! Only 13 more days for my new niece to arrive. Can't wait.

And Some Other Things...

Did any of you catch the men's swim 400 relay last night? All I can say is WOW! The French should have never opened their mouth. Randy and I were laying on the couch, and we both sat up real quick and found us cheering them on. It is a race that will be remembered for a long time!

Also, I have been meaning to blog about Karenza's imaginary friends. Well, actually they are two brothers. Their names are Junior and Freddie. She came up with these ideas all by her self. And the real funny part is that they drive her crazy! She is always telling me that they are mean to her. One day she said they threw cake in their face, and the other day she said they were really naughty at Cindy's. Who has imaginary friends that drive you nuts? Seriously! Aren't they suppose to be nice and you play with them when you don't have anyone else to play with? They go with her in the truck. One day on the way to daycare she said "Brothers, I am not saying that word!" I said "What word do they want you to say?" She goes "Well, I don't want to say it is kind of naughty." I wanted to know what word she was thinking of so I told her it was okay to tell Mommy what they wanted her to repeat. She said "Mommy, they want me to say booty!" I had to laugh! Anyway, someday I hear about them some days I don't. But I do have to say the girl does have an imagination that is for sure!

Also, I forgot to blog about the day she received her big girl bed we were taking my Grandma home. Karenza, my Grandma, and myself were sitting in the backseat of my Mom and Dad's truck. We were close to my Grandma's house and Karenza says to my Grandma, "Grandma Donna, I want to give you a hug before you leave." She leans over and gives Grandma a hug and leans up to kiss her. She says "Grandma Donna, why do you have cracks in your cheeks?" We all started laughing including my Grandma. My Grandma said to her "Oh, Grandma Donna is old." Karenza said to her in a kind of a surprised shocked voice "You are?" She is something else!

Oh, and we did get the frog out of the garage! Karenza and I were standing on things to make sure it wouldn't hop on us! It took 45 minutes to get the damn thing out. It kept hopping behind things. At one time it hopped up underneath Randy's motorcycle and he rolled his motorcycle out. I was going to go close the garage so it wouldn't hop back in. In the mean time the frog hopped out and back into the garage! I kept telling Randy to make sure he didn't kill it. I don't like them, but I sure don't like living things to be killed either! He was just probably looking for a safe place to hide. Poor thing. We finally got him out and away from the garage. I should probably check in the morning before I open the garage again so we don't have to repeat this!

Karenza is in the bath playing so I should go get her out and ready for bed. So many things on TV tonight. Summer Olympics, Twins v. Yankees (who are winning and its in the bottom of the 8th!), and Monday night football Cincinnati and Green Bay!

The Weekend Wrap Up

This weekend was jammed pack with activities, and maybe that is why I am so tired! Too much fun, and not enough sleep. First Randy had his regular softball game on Friday and it was our turn to bring the beer. Everyone always brings Bud Light and Budweiser and everyone knows I drink Coors Light! So that is what I took. Randy drinks MGD now and then so we took a case of that too as well as a 12 pack of Budweiser. I told Randy they are not going to care it is Coors Light because it was free! So we didn't get home until 11:00pm on Friday night. I had been trying to get a baby sitter all week for Saturday night. Our regular was out of town on a family vacation, and my back up never did answer. So on Friday night I was asking other families what they were doing with their kids. Another Mom who is 28 yrs old and a mother to 4 boys (who all look exactly like their dad!). God bless her! Anyway, she offered me her baby sitter as her two older boys were going to be gone and that the babysitter would like to watch Karenza. She was excited. She is a trooper like that. I kind of felt bad dropping her off at a strangers house. But, she has played with the boys' at all the softball games and she does know the parents from softball too. She was a trooper and she went willingly (with Bronco Blanket in hand!).

Then it was his state tournament on Saturday. They had their first game at 9am, and the other team didn't show so they won by forfeit. Their second game was at 2:30pm. By then the rain had settled in and it was pouring! Karenza and I sat in the truck and were singing (her to the top of her lungs to songs she didn't really know!). Didn't have a camera with! They never did call they game, although in the 4th inning they delayed for about 30 minutes so the Park and Rec could dry out the infield with some fresh sand. Game was over at about 4:30 and we were to meet at the North Walmart at 6:00pm so we all could follow each other to Dave's house. Where the year-end softball tournament was. He lives about 10-15 miles northeast of Bismarck. We came home showered real quick grab the side dish I made to take a long (taco/mexican dip in a 9X13 pan). Crystal and Jerric's house is right by the north Walmart so that is where we dropped Karenza off at. She went like a trooper and didn't make me feel bad about leaving her there. She first thought when I told her she was going to Crystal house for a little bit she thought it was her "Auntie Crystal", Randy's sister. I had to break the news it wasn't her Auntie she was going to see. She was okay with it. We grab some more beer and some other fun drinks at the Walmart Liquor store. About 6 packed cars left for Dave's about 7:00pm. After raining all day, and the gravel roads we had to take. The truck sure is a mess! We didn't get back in to Bismarck until 1:00am and it was a fun time. Great food! Good Laughs! My stomach and face hurt so bad that night. We played Bocce ball, and it brought back memories of when the company I work for use to be smaller and before we joined LexisNexis. On Friday's at about 3:30pm or so we used to have a couple drinks and play Bocce ball back by the copier. Good times there as well! Anyway, 7:30am came awful early for Randy's game on Sunday! They lost their game on Sunday. It was close, but I think everyone had too much fun the night before. We were home by 12:00pm had some lunch and all went back to bed! Yesterday afternoon was a lazy day.

We are going camping this weekend and are leaving on Thursday night to go up to Riverdale. Karenza has been asking everyday for the last week! I am sure she is going to drive me crazy asking everyday. Today was hard to get her to even go to daycare. Should be fun to just get away. Not much cell phone reception up there which will be nice for us just to be together as a family.

This morning when Karenza and I were getting ready for daycare I was putting her in the backseat of our Expedition and I saw a frog in our garage! Not a small frog either. I have no idea how he got in there! I am thinking when I opened the garage door this morning he must have hopped in there. It was raining last night and overcast/raining this morning. I tried to get him out, but he jumped every way but towards outside! He even peed (or some kind of defense mechanism) in the garage. I think he was mad at me as well as I was at him. He eventually hopped behind Randy's golf clubs sitting in the corner and I thought I could be in here all day trying to get him out. I haven't opened the door yet again today. My mind went crazy that if I opened the garage I wouldn't be able to see him and I would scare him and he would scare me. So when I came home I left the truck sit outside. Hopefully Randy can get him out. I didn't realize it but I kind of am afraid of frogs I think. He gives me shivers when I try to get near, and when he jumps I jump! I am sure it was a site to see! Anyway, I"ll leave it to Randy and let him be the hero. I just hope the frog isn't making a mess in my garage! Gross!

Hopefully this week will go by fast so I can have a little peaceful get away with my family! Today at work was ridiculous. Something is really wrong with my computer/email. Friday it was slow, today I never did get all my emails. Took over 3 hours for me to receive all most of my emails from over the weekend and this morning! I couldn't even get on the Internet to put in a request for IT to help me. I finally called my manager and asked him to help. Still haven't heard back from anyone! Not much I can get done until someone helps me. My home computer works just fine, so it is not my connection. We'll see what tomorrow brings. Not a good start the work week for me. Good thing it's a short one for me!

One last parting note. Did anyone else see those babies that were born in Fergus Falls, MN and Cedar Rapids, IA? They were born on 8/8/08 at 8:08am and weighed 8lbs 8oz. Crazy stuff.

One Hot Mama!

Here is an updated picture of one hot mama! She is 36 weeks pregnant. She looks so good, doesn't she? She went to the doctor today and only has two more appointments left! Wow! That went fast (for me at least). Everything looks good the doc says. I felt a little foot today! I can't wait to see her face and meet her. We are so curious to see if she looks any thing like Cassie did when she was born. Only 22 more days, Sis!! :o)

My Baby Really Is a Big Girl!

Below are new pictures of Karenza's new bed. Mom and Dad's neighbor bought three twin size beds from this old farmer who hand made them out of oak. It has a headboard (if you can see it any any pictures with all her pillows) and it is all one piece. It doesn't require a box spring just the mattress. All of this (including the mattress, a comforter, and an end table that we haven't received yet) for only $50! Mom and Dad's neighbor only have two kids, and they are not having anymore kids. So Mom and Dad brought it over yesterday. Mom and I had went shopping for her bedding about a month ago and so she has been asking almost everyday when her new bed is coming.

When we first moved and was situating her room she declared that she wanted and needed curtains. I thought maybe she was just saying this because she had seen mine. But, she insisted she need curtains and when are you going to buy them for me! She had a curtain in her other room before we moved and it was a really pretty cream. She wanted orange and pink for some reason. We compromised on a Cinderella curtain of her carriage and it is just pink.

Anyway, she knew her bed was coming yesterday morning and this is how Randy and I woke up she was sitting in the living room (which we didn't know she was up yet) and shouting and singing to the top of her lungs "It's morning time and I get my bed today!" Over and over again. I woke up and was wondering where she was screaming this from. I finally found her sitting on the couch. Anyway, below are pictures of yesterday. Mom and Dad also bought her a little pool for us to put on the patio fo her. She loves it! Yesterday was definitely a good day in Karenza's world thanks to her Papa and Grandma! :o)
Can you see the Vaness Hudgens (or Gabriella from High School Musical) poster in the back ground. Karenza absolutely loves her!

Taking a nap

Can't believe my baby is in a twin size bed! She looked so big in her toddler bed, and now she looks so little in her twin size bed. I always call her "Baby" I guess that is my little nickname for her, or secretly just want her to be little forever! She is just growing up way to fast for me. Yesterday I told her that her bed would have been nice to have last week as her and I wouldn't have had to sleep on the couch all week together. Her and I could have slept in her bed. Well, I opened my mouth, so last night when we were getting her ready for bed. She said "C'mon Mom, you can sleep with me now!" She started to cry, and I felt bad, so I laid with her until she fell asleep. I just stared at her as she slept and how beautiful my baby is, and how big she is getting. And if I get sad over her upgrading to a twin size bed I have no idea how I am going to be when she starts Kindergarten or other milestones in her life. Anyway, when I woke up this morning she was standing on my side of the bed and asked me "Mom, why are you in your bed sleeping?" I said "You pushed Mommy out of bed!" I waited for her reaction hoping she wouldn't be sad. She said "Oh, I am sorry Mommy!" with a smile. It was all good!
In about an hour we are going to go with Mom and Dad when they take the camper up to Riverdale. So we know where they campground is at that they are leaving it at for this whole month. We are going to go up from the 14-17th so we wanted to know how to get there and to make sure we know how everything works. I worked for about 4 hours today, and am now caught up to where I should be. Although I think they are behind as well as I didn't get my reports until late on Friday. Anyway, I am where I am supposed to be. Anyway, hope you all had a great weekend. Talk Soon!

What a Couple Days on Medicine Can Do

Before Medicine and Doctors Visits:

Randy came home early on Monday, and when I came out of my office this is what I found!

This is how she was sleeping in the rocking chair.

My poor baby!

Sleeping on the couch with Daddy's blanket

After the Doctor and 2 days of medicine:

After her bath yesterday morning, and conditioning of her hair

She wanted to go for a bike ride, so we took her on the bike bath by our house for a very short one just to get outside

She is getting better at not watching her feet while she is pedaling. It was nice for her to be outside as she hadn't been out all week.

I washed all her bedding and all the blankets she had used this week. Sprayed with Lysol, and hopefully the sick is out of our house. I will be working some this weekend just to get ahead in work. Next week will be back to normal with Karenza back in daycare and me putting the pedal to the medal for month end. Have a great weekend!
