Preschool

Randy and I had been discussing about putting Karenza into preschool this year. She goes to a great daycare that works with her on learning. We just thought she need the structure of going into a classroom, and having a teacher. She needs to work on her listening skills, and not interrupting when someone is talking. She knows all her numbers, most of her letters, knows how to write her name, all her shapes, and all her colors. We have been practicing writing other letters besides just the letters in her name too. Anyway, Mom and I, a couple weeks ago went looking at preschools. The first place we stopped was The Angel Academy. Well of course Karenza absolutely loved it. Before we went in I explained to her that she had to not interrupt when I was talking with the teacher, she couldn't play with any of the toys she saw, and that she had to be well behaved. She did very well. We toured the gym, and the classroom. They only had a few spots left open so we just decided to sign her up! She'll only be going for a couple hours a day MWF from 9-11:20. But, I think that will be plenty of time for her to get adjusted to going to kindergarten. Her favorite part was going school supply shopping, and clothes shopping. She went with Cassidy when she went school shopping, and was wanting so bad to get the same things as her. I can't believe she is even old enough to pick out a backpack, and folders she wants to take to school! The preschool gave me sheets of papers I had to fill out, and included in these papers was a sheet that said "First Day Jitters". It was for parents! On how hard it will be to see "our baby" growing up and start school we need to try and hold our composure because some kids may see Mommy crying, and wonder if this is really a good place to be left with out their Mom! Karenza informed me that I don't need to cry at all. That it's just time for her to grow up, and do big girl things now! I am so glad I am getting another baby in 8 weeks I can cuddle, and snuggle with before she is off to preschool too!!

I had a doctor appointment on Wednesday, the 26th, and took Karenza's immunization record to see if she needed any updates on her shots. Well she needed four!!! She got all her updates, and won't need any now for even when she start kindergarten. So I made her an appointment for this morning. Poor thing was so scared to get her shots. She cried when I first told her that she needed them. Then we slowly discussed that if she wanted to go to school that she needed them. So she finally convinced herself that it was okay. She weighs 44lbs, and is 44inches (3 1/2 feet). They said she is in the 80 percentile for her weight, and in the 90 percentile for her height! Anyway, they had two nurses give her shots. They both did the shots in the arms at the same time. Karenza tried to be tough, but she cried. She told me she didn't want to go to school any more! I started to cry seeing her cry. Seems like it's harder when they are older, or maybe not, but as a Mom it hurts to see your baby crying (no matter how old the baby is!!). Then they did the shots in her legs at the same time as well. She was crying, and I wrapped her up in my arms (even with my big belly in the way) and held her! She picked two suckers, and she even gave me one! She didn't cry too long, but it still hurts me. Mom was with us, and I said that she needed to comfort me, as I comforted Karenza! We then took Karenza out for breakfast, and she had pancakes and sausage (her favorites). Then Mom bought her two new pairs of shoes, and new socks for school. She is fine now, and is running around and jumping. Her Papa promised he'd take her to the park tonight after he got off of work.

As for my doctor appointment things went good. Blood pressure was 124/84. Gained 3 lbs. Protein was +1 for my urine, which was better then last time. My doctor wanted to do a 24 hour urine test so I stayed home all day yesterday to do that. If I don't have to ever do that again in my lifetime that would be just fine with me. So gross!! Baby is very active, and heartbeat is good as well. I did housework the other day, and what use to take 1/2 a day it now takes me all day to do! Afterwards, my feet and ankles were swollen, so now no more housework for this Momma. I told the other two people who live in this house that they have to be more conscious of picking up after themselves. We'll see. Only 8 weeks left until this baby arrives. C-section date has been set for October 23rd at 7am. Two days after Karenza's birthday. I am happy with that, and hope I don't go into labor sooner then that. I can have Karenza's birthday the weekend before on the 17th. I will be huge, but at least I won't be trying to recover from a c-section.

This weekend is Addison's first birthday party! So I will have a picture post next time.

Pregnancy/Baby Update

I had a doctor appointment last week. Baby is definitely sucking everything from me. I lost 4lbs when I went. I also was experiencing blurred vision, and light headedness (signs of preclampsia). My doctor ordered a NST (non-stress-test) for the baby to make sure she is okay, and not in any distress. She was superb! Very active, and very healthy. I however, just can't over do it. My blood pressure last week was 103/73, and I have no swelling (so far). I am now going to the doctor every two weeks. Can't believe it is getting down to the end. I am 30 weeks tomorrow!! Yeah!!!

I also have a doctor appointment tomorrow with the doctor who will be doing my c-section. It's a meet, and greet session. Basically for me to ask any questions I may have, and to get a plan in place. Hopefully we'll look at a date so that I can get other things planned as well. I am a planner, and need to know how things will go. Karenza's 5th birthday is on the 21st, and with me having a c-section I will be a little out of commission if I have it before then. It is kind of weighing on my mind because I want her to have a very special birthday, and I am just not sure how much I will be able to do. I know it will all work out eventually.

I will post a picture of my belly at 30 weeks, I promise! It's been a while since you've all seen a picture of the belly. I have also been thinking of getting pictures taken of my belly. I never did with Karenza, and am thinking of doing it with this one. So we'll see.

Funny Karenza Sayings

Karenza is a really funny funny person, and I try to remember her funny sayings to tell people. I know that I will probably forget when she gets older, but if I put them on here we can look back and laugh. So below are some of her funny sayings over the last few weeks:

1.) My Dad had taken Karenza and Cassidy to Snoopers (like a Chucky Cheese). She was telling some kid that was being mean to her "My Papa is white, and if you aren't scared of him my Dad is black and you should be scared of him!"

2.) After she was telling me about this naughty girl at Snoopers that kept bugging her she tells me that she needs her Dad to teach her new moves, or to get bigger muscles to take care of bigger kids that are mean to her. That must by a guy thing to tell their kids to just give the kid a punch if they're bugging you. Randy always tells her to do that to kids at daycare that are mean to her. I always tell her that she needs to tell her daycare provider because more then likely the daycare provider will only see the punch Karenza does, and not know what the whole reason was. I said the daycare provider will settle the dispute, and that Karenza doesn't need to take actions into her own hands.

3.) This one isn't so much as funny, as I was surprised. I was picking up the living room, and I was picking up her Lego's. She says to me "Mom, don't ruin my sculptures!" I guess I didn't know she knew what a sculpture was.

4.) We were looking for preschools for Karenza to attend, and Randy and I were discussing it in front of her. She says to us "So, when I go to school do I get to learn about football, softball, or basketball?" We said, "When you go to school you learn about your letters, numbers, learn to read and write." She said "Oh!"

5.) She was talking to the baby, and the baby wasn't moving. She finally said "Maybe if I talk in here Mom she will hear me better!" She was talking about my belly button!

6.) While just her and I were driving the other day she says to me "So Mom, do we all have to take turns for feeding the baby at night time?" I said "Well, Dad and I will take care of the baby at night you won't have to worry about getting up with her." She said, "Oh, okay that sounds like a good deal I was worried!". I did proceed to tell her that we have to be really gentle with the baby, and that she can't pick the baby up by herself. She will be a big help. I just need to make sure not to BIG of a help if you all know what I mean.

7.) One Friday night at Randy's softball game one of his teammates hit a home-run, and almost hit a cop car that happened to be driving through the parking lot of the ball diamonds. The cop parked his car, and walked through the ball diamond complex to Randy's teammates field. He was giving the guys a hard time about who was it that hit the home run because it could be almost assaulting a police officer. He was totally teasing, but he stuck around for a little bit to watch the game. Karenza is fascinated by cops (she was a cop last year for Halloween). Anyway, she noticed this cop, and went to talk to him. She asked him if he was going to take anyone to jail tonight, and he said that he hoped not to. She asked him if he only took naughty people to jail. He said yes, and she said so if I do this (turning her head and sticking her tongue out) then I would go to jail? In the same breathe she told him that she wasn't really doing that to him she was just asking! He told her that he wouldn't take anyone to jail for sticking their tongue out, but that it wouldn't be very nice to do to someone! He was very patient with her, and thought she was cute. She noticed his belt around his waist with all his gadgets, and she was asking which each one was. His taser gun, his radio, his bullets, ect. (she never did see his gun - thank goodness). When she came to his handcuffs he got them out for her to see. He told her to put her hands out in front of her, and he tried putting the cuffs on her. She told him that wasn't the way to do it, and turned around and put her hands behind her back. He started to laugh, and I told him that we have seen a cop show or two. He put the cuffs on her, and she slipped right out of them. He let her play with the handcuffs and even gave her the key to unlock the cuffs! She then told him to turn around so she could put the handcuffs on him. I then stepped in, and said that he couldn't because he was working. Everyone that was sitting around us was laughing. He then told her he better get back to work, but before he left he told me I had a cute and bright little girl!

If I think of any more little stories I will add them. She sure is a funny little person! Her little four year old mind sure does wonder a lot, and she sure has interesting questions and comments.

What Have We Been Up To?

Blogger is doing some funking things right now, and it isn't allowing me to rearrange these pictures to be at the end of the post. It won't even allow me to cut and paste what I wrote to the top of these pictures. I am getting aggitated so this will have to do. :-) As you can see below are pictures of the new baby's bedding. This is all I have ready so far for her is the bedding, and the crib set up. I smile everytime I walk by the room knowing there will soon be a little girl in there!

Oh how I can't wait until there is some little girl in there!

What have we been up to lately? Well, softball, softball, and more softball I guess. Last weekend we headed off to Minot for a two day softball tournament. It was the same weekend as the State Fair so there were so many people there. Taylor Swift was also in concert as well, and the concert was sold out. We still had to be careful not to mention her name and concert in the same sentence because she is Karenza's favorite singer! Anyway, it was up early on Saturday morning because Randy played at 9am. We were up and out of the house by 6:30am! Of course we tried getting a hotel room all week, but they were full because of the concert. We figured we would just try once we got up there after Randy's games to try and see if we could get lucky with a cancellation. After trying for a couple hours we were successful! After all day in the sun, and Randy playing softball all day, and getting up early we were exhausted! Of course I left the camera at home and have no pictures.

This weekend we headed to Fort Yates for another softball tournament. He played at 7am! We were up at 4:50am to be out the house by 5:30. We just carried Karenza out the house and in truck still asleep. This was just a one day tournament instead of two so we were home by 3pm yesterday, and we all took naps. Again, no pictures because the camera was left at home again.

News on the baby front is that we have the crib up. My Mom came and helped me get some things done so that I feel a little better. Karenza and I went and bought her bedding and she helped me get the baby's crib ready. I went through Karenza's totes of clothes I had saved from when she was a baby. It was cute to see her little clothes again. They are still in such good shape! I have a dresser that was my Grandma's and I am going to paint it a different color to match the babies room (dark plum and pink). I have been feeling okay. I have been going to physical therapy for my S-I joint, as I have been having such trouble with my lower back. At my last check up, I also was informed that I have Group B Strep. So now I am on antibiotics to try and get rid of this. My doctor isn't too concerned since I will be delivering as c-section. I have heard horrible things can happen to the baby if a woman tries to deliver. Of course it doesn't help that I come home and research and read on the Internet about it either. I go back next week for another test to see where I am at. My next appointment is August 10th, then I go every two weeks. We are just anticipating having her here with us. She is way more active in my belly then Karenza ever was! Karenza will talk to her and kiss my belly and she punches/kicks right back. Last night we were watching a funny movie, and Randy would laugh and laugh and she would move and move. She is very interactive with us when we talk to her. I can't wait to see how much alike or different she looks then her sister. We are getting so excited to meet her. Only about 11 more weeks to go depending on my c-section date! Which we will discuss at my next appointment.
