Ultrasound Tomorrow

Tomorrow is the day! I am anxious, nervous, excited, and scared for the ultrasound tomorrow. I am excited to know if we will be having a boy or another girl. We are bringing Karenza with us tomorrow, and she is super excited to see the baby. I have had to reiterate to her that we won't be getting the baby tomorrow. That we are just getting to peak at the baby on a "computer screen" to make sure it's growing healthy, and to see if we can see if we will be getting a baby brother or a baby sister. I have to drink 40oz. of water before my ultrasound tomorrow because it helps magnify the ultrasound and see things better. I don't know how I am going to do that! I have to pee all the time even after drinking 6oz. of water. So wish me luck with that little task tomorrow! I will post the results tomorrow. :-)

Here is a funny Karenza story: On Monday (it was early evening) we were driving, and Karenza was being awfully quiet in the backseat. I looked in the back seat, and said "Are you sleepy, baby?" She said, "No, Mom, I am just resting my talk!" ha!

Douglas D. Moffit July 30, 1934 - June 6, 2008

Can't believe you've been gone for a year. The memories are just like they happened yesterday, but it seems like forever since I've seen your smile. We still think of you every day, and for selfish reasons still wish you were here to share even more memories with us. We miss you so very much!
*For some reason this is the only picture I have on my laptop of my Grandpa. It's not a very clear picture. It's from when he was the Grand Marshall of the parade at the 125th Centennial celebration at Moffit. July 2006.

Dr. Appointment

I haven't blogged lately because I haven't been feeling the hottest. I had a doctor appointment last week, and it wasn't so good. I ended up going by myself because Randy wasn't able to get away from work. I lost a pound since last time I was there, and my blood pressure was up (144/98). The last two times I went it was perfect (122/82 & 121/83)! My doctor wanted blood work done, and my white blood cell count is up. My protein was a little up (but same as last time), my sodium levels were okay, and my blood glucose level was okay as well. I was at the appointment for almost an hour and a half. I got to hear the baby's heartbeat and it was 155 bpm. Before I left they checked my blood pressure one more time and it was 140/98. With my blood pressure still up they wanted me to come back the following week to see if it was still high. My doctor has mentioned bed rest, and I just am not ready for that especially during the summer!! When I went back this week it was 121/70! What the heck? I have been going to my appointments the same time (morning), and I have tracked what I ate and what I have been doing to see why my blood pressure can fluctuate so much. I really thought it was going to be high when I went back this week because I was so stressed out before I went. I got cut off in traffic so I had to slam on my breaks and, my drink spilled all the way into the back seat! I just reached my boiling point and couldn't take it any more. So I don't know. I just keep hoping it will stay where its at.

I have been feeling the baby move more and more (actually moving as I am typing this). Randy and Karenza haven't been able to feel the baby move yet, but it shouldn't be too long as I feel the kicks are getting stronger. I am also still getting sick. It's just beyond ridiculous at this point. We went for breakfast on Monday morning and when my food came I took one bite and had to head to the bathroom. I felt so sorry for the others that were in there listening to me. Not very pleasant. But, what is a pregnant lady to do? I am 18 weeks, and still miserable. Will this madness ever end? I am just super excited that we find out June 10th what we are having. Then I can at least narrow down our name list by 50%, because we still can not agree on anything. I don't have any suggestions, but I don't like any my husband has been giving me. I'll start searching once I know what we are having. Most everyone has guessed it's a boy. Guess we will have to wait and see. Karenza told me the other day that she thinks it's a baby brother because he's being so naughty to me. It's a long time to Oct. 30th, and I am just hoping and praying I don't end up on bed rest.

To end on a funnier note the other night we were having dinner/supper, and we were just having a ham sandwich and some chips (something quick and easy when I don't feel too hot!) Anyway, Karenza asks Randy and I "Are you guys thinking what I am thinking?" We said "Well, what are you thinking?" She said "Well, I was just thinking that I sure wish I had a bigger mouth so I could take a bigger bite of this delicious sandwich!" ha!

16 Weeks

Below are pictures of my pregnant belly. I do not like the way I look, and Karenza took the photos of me. So please excuse the way I look, and admire my belly!! :-)

I am showing so much sooner then when I was pregnant with Karenza. I hope my belly doesn't keep growing at this rate!

Here is our little growing munchkin! Only 4 more weeks and we'll be able to know what we are having. I am getting super excited to know if we will be adding a boy or a girl to our family. I am starting to feel the baby move, and can't wait until Randy and Karenza will be able to feel it too.

Week & Weekend Wrap-Up

This past week has been so busy! Karenza's babysitter is a sophomore at BHS, and she is in a child development class. She invited Karenza to a pre-school week during their hour period of class. It was teaching the Sophomores how to interact with pre-school children, and be able to teach them crafts, dances, and songs. She went Tuesday-Friday last week from 12:40pm-1:40om. I would drop her off at the high school doors, and her babysitter would come and get her. She would turn and wave and tell me she loves me and off to "school" she would go. She almost made me cry when she would turn around and wave. I know it won't be long before this is our life. She had so much fun making crafts, singing songs, playing games, and learning dances. An hour was plenty long for me. Although Karenza probably could have stayed all day!

This upcoming Friday is Karenza's last day at gymnastics. It is registration week to sign up again for another session. I talked with Karenza and told her I could sign her up again, but that I think we should save gymnastics for when it isn't so nice outside. I told her that I thought she would like to take swimming lessons, and that she could do that this summer. She loved my idea. So that will be next on my list to do. I told her that this summer her and I are going to do fun things. That I am going to take her to the zoo, and that we are going to go swimming, and just do fun things. Of course she likes my idea.

We had a big dilemma on Friday morning when we woke up! Karenza wanted Randy and I to come to her room to look at Troy (her fish) and that he is sick. Well he was laying at the bottom of the tank and Randy told her that it was just sleeping. We were getting ready for gymnastics so I took Karenza out to get her in the truck. Randy said he would be right out that he needed to "use the bathroom". While I was getting her in the truck, he was getting rid of the fish. So we took Karenza to gymnastics (Randy has Friday's off). She doesn't really pay attention to us if we are watching her do her gymnastics or not, so after gymnastics Randy told her that he left during gymnastics and took the fish to the "doctor" and that the doctor would call when the fish was better. She instantly started to cry. Not just a little cry, like devastating cry, like break your heart cry! She was so upset that she thought he wasn't going to make it. Randy looked at me and I looked at him (knowing what our plan was all along) and we were just supporting each other what the other was telling her. That he was going to be okay and that the doctor will make him all better. Gymnastics was over at 11:30am, and so we took her to lunch and then had to drop her off at her last day of pre-school at 12:40pm. While she was at school we went to Pet Smart and bought a similar fish. Of course, this one looked a little different there wasn't as much black on it as the other one, but we both said it should work. It was the only one they had left so we didn't have much of a choice. When we picked her up from school we told her the doctor had called and look who we picked up! We handed her the bag, and she kept looking at him and looking at him. She was so happy that he was better, but then she said to us, "What happened to his eyes?" We said "What do you mean?" "Well, they aren't as dark" I said "Well, the doctor said he would look a little peeked from being sick and that it might take a while for him to look like his normal self!" She said "Oh!" Randy looked at me while driving and winked at me to tell me nice cover up. She asked what the doctor said was wrong and what he did to him. Randy told her the doctor gave him a shot in the butt! She was trying to look at the fish to see if she could see. ha! We brought the fish home she thinks it's the same fish. Although we did tell her that the doctor said we can only take it to the doctor one time, and that if it gets sick again that there isn't anything he can do for it anymore. Randy and I agreed that we didn't want to keep buying fish to cover up! I mean they are only $5.00 goldfish (with long fins - pretty fish) but still! We squeaked by on this one.

My Mother's Day was wonderful! We didn't do anything most of the day. We played games, and just relaxed. Randy dusted for me, and him and Karenza did a couple loads of laundry for me. We have a front loader washer and dryer and I hate it! I didn't know I hated it until I got pregnant! I get so light headed bending over trying to fill the wash machine up. So Karenza will put the laundry in the wash machine, and Randy transfers the clothes from the wash machine to the dryer. Then I fold, and Karenza helps. :-) Anyway, then at 4:30pm we went out for an early dinner (supper) with Mom and Dad. It was a beautiful day, and it was just relaxing. I was able to spend the whole weekend with my husband and daughter. Randy has ever Friday off, and then works every other Saturday until noon. Well, he has worked the last two Saturdays so it was nice to have him home all weekend! Starting June 1st he will be working M-F with no Saturday's since school is out and they don't have to work around school hours since all the athletes can come any time of the day. Will be nice so that we can plan a weekend to do something.

Today is beautiful! I promised Karenza that we'd play ball outside, but I am thinking that I'll take her to the park instead. She'll love that! Hope all you fabulous mother's out there enjoyed your special day.

What's In a Name?

I have been keeping a list of names that Karenza has suggested we name the new baby. She thinks of names of people we already know, and I told her we have to think of a new name of someone we don’t already know. We don’t want our baby to have the same name as someone else we know. So she has come up with some funny ones. See her list below. One of the reasons we chose Karenza is because we had never heard it before until we were looking for names, and I haven’t heard another kid her age with that name. We have received so many compliments on her name and people say they have never heard that name before. Although, I have found out that when she participates in group activities and she tells people her name they think she says “Carrisa”. So that is the only down fall of her name. But, I still love it!

Madelyn
Peyton
Tyler
Dillon
Sarah
Robatcha (sp?) this a boy’s name according to Karenza
Miranda
Randy
Karenza
Addison
Cassidy
Squirt
Elizabeth
Barack Obama
Lebron
Jordan

We have taken these all into consideration, or have told her we appreciate her help with the process. We do, however, want to include her in on the process. Or make her feel like she is in on the process. This is a big deal for her too!

We are looking for another name that is different, and not really heard of. The last thing I want my child to do is go to school and have three other kids with the same name. I don’t want any off the wall names either though. I just want them to fit who I think would be our next baby. It will be interesting and fun as Randy and I don’t really have any names picked out. We had a heck of a time coming up with Karenza until I heard it one day, and I begged and begged for it to be our baby’s name. Randy liked it okay at first, and then I just kept pushing it and won! Randy has a name he wants for a boy, and I am not really sold on it (yet). He has kept pushing it and texts it to me at least once a week with the full name. The only name we have agreed on is our boy’s middle name. We’ll see how far he gets me on the first name he wants. We have no girl names, no girl middle names, and no boy first name either. It is only 5 more weeks until we find out what we are having then we will start looking harder for the perfect name we can’t live with out. I won’t be sharing what the name is of our child when we do decide. I will tell you all what the sex of the baby will be when we find out, but the baby's name shall remain nameless until the day it’s born. Some thing has to be a surprise for you all! :o)

My Little Track Star!!

Today we (Mom, Randy and I) took Karenza to the mall for a fundraiser put on by Community Action Program for babies and toddlers. The cost of being in the race was a pack of diapers. All donated items are then given to families who can't afford diapers, and toddler items. They had different races/heats for babies who are crawlers, babies who are just learning to walk(tot trott), 3 year olds(runners), and then 4 year olds (sprinters). Karenza was so excited! Mom picked Karenza and I up this morning and we went for breakfast. Randy worked until noon, and Papa is really busy at work. Registration was at noon, and the race began at 1:00pm. They started with the babies, and they were so cute. Some just would sit there, and others would crawl half ways and then hear music and stop and then sit up and dance. It was so cute. Their parents were cheering and cheering to get them to cross the finish line. All participants received a green ribbon just for participating. 1st place and 2nd place also received blue and red ribbons. Then the 1st place winner won a Color Wonder Finger paint set, and could pick one item (toys, games, blankets) off of a table. Second place got to pick a toy off the table too. Karenza was so anxious and just couldn't wait for her turn. One parent stood with them at the start line, and the other stood at the finish line. Randy choose to be with her at the start. They had been practicing on her stance. She had it down to a T! I was at the finish line, and you'll have to excuse me on the video below I was a little excited!! I was screaming for my baby!! She won 1st place by a land slide!!!!!!!!! I was so proud of her. She was so excited, and I was excited she made me cry. :-) I don't know how I will be when she is really participating in track, oh my!! After the race, she said "I just knew I'd win!!" So she got a blue ribbon of 1st place, a Color Wonder Finger paint set, and she picked out a Barbie. Below is the video of our little track star!
