I haven't blogged in over week, sorry just been too lazy to upload my photos I wanted to share. So here they are. On Jan. 23rd we took Karenza to the Disney Live show that was at the Civic Center. She loved it. It was ridiculously expensive. The glow in the dark toys were $25.00!! Sno cones were $12.00, and you got to keep the Little Einstein cup it came in and the cotton candy was $10.00 that came with a hat. She got a sno cone and cotton candy.

Then on January 24th my cousin Nicole got married. We sure had a fun time. At the wedding ceremony the priest mentioned Jesus Christ, and Karenza asked Randy and me "Why is he talking about Jesus Christ, he is suppose to be talking about Nicole and Richard (the groom)!" She wasn't quiet about it either and people around us laughed. She wasn't being quiet, and she kept going from sitting with us to sitting with Mom and Dad in front of us. I finally told her she had to decide and stay put. I told her that she needed to listen to me because Jesus was watching her and that he would be upset if she wasn't listening to her Mom. She said, and not quietly either "Mom, Jesus isn't even here he died on the cross, those people killed him!" Ha! She was quite entertaining. At the dance she was a dancing fool. She is so cute to watch dancing. This was the first wedding dance I was at since Randy and I got married where I didn't have to be out catching the bouquet. So I told Karenza to do it and represent her Mom. And she did!! She caught the bouquet, and was so excited!!

Yesterday we went over to Jen and Wes' to watch the Superbowl. Randy is pleased his Steelers got another Superbowl win. I was rooting for the Cardinals! So close!!! Below are some pictures over the last week or so, in no particular order....

Tonight we (Randy, Karenza, Mom, Dad, and Me) went to Century's and Bismarck's high school basketball game at the Civic Center. Randy has worked with this kid since the end of his 7th grade year and he is now starting on varsity as a Freshman! So we have been going to all his games this season. During half time tonight Century had their dance team doing a routine. Well, Karenza was dancing to the music all night, and so I had my camera with me and video taped her dancing. People in the crowd were watching her and laughing. BTW - Bismarck won too, YEAH!! :-) Karenza will definitely be a future BHS Demon!!

Hope of Unification in our Nation

Wow, was yesterday spectacular or what? I have never watched an inauguration with such full awareness as I did yesterday. Obama is an amazing speaker, and fills me with hope for not only me, but my child and my future children. Last night Randy and I were talking that even though Karenza doesn't really know the status of everything that is going on in this world that it gives us hope to know that someday she can look back and tell her grand kids she was part of history! That someday our way of life now, will be so abnormal as slavery. We all will be equal. That closed mind and closed hearts will be open. That discrimination will be a way of the past that Karenza or her kids won't ever believe that we lived this way. Obama gives us hope that we all can become unified, work together, and be successful no matter what race, religion, or sexual orientation. That we can all look at each other equal, and that one is not better then the other. I just think back to when slavery was legal and how hard headed and strong minded those individuals were. There are those individuals who are just as hard headed and strong minded today and back then they probably wondered how life would ever be without slavery because it had been that way for so long. It's been 40+ years since Martin Luther King spoke and gave those people hope. Even if it takes 40 years for us to be unified Karenza will be 44 and she will be able to live it and her kids will be able to live in a world where every one is equal. And maybe Obama won't be able to get us out of where we are, but he sure does give me hope and belief that we all can become one. If we work hard and have determination the skies the limit. I just looked at Karenza a little different last night knowing she has her future ahead of her and that she can be anything she wants to be! Truly inspirational.

Little Rascal's

Holly and I use to watch The Little Rascal's all the time when we were little girls. I was at Wal-mart a few weeks back in their DVD's for $5.00, so I grabbed it for Karenza. She loves it! She has been watching it (what seems like a lot from the video below). If anyone has seen this movie, Karenza is talking about when Buckwheat and Porky go see Darla at her front door to tell her the note Alfafa wrote. See her "re-enactment" below:

More Snow? This is getting ridiculous!!

There are many two/three lane roads in Bismarck that are down to just one/two lanes because there is no where to put the snow. The other night Randy and I were coming home late (about Midnight) and we saw trucks hauling snow out of the city! I have never seen anything like this since my senior year in high school. There just seems to be no end in sight! Spring will not come soon enough for me, then we'll probably be having to deal with floods! This is just such gross weather! I was up at my Grandma's this morning, and it was snowing and I was there for about an hour and when I left you couldn't see my tracks where I walked into her house at!

My Girl Feeling Better

I think my girl is feeling better. This was her this morning after being awake for about 30 minutes:

She had the flu on Thursday. With a temp that got up to 104! She was only sick for 24 hours. Yesterday she felt fine. I washed all her bedding and sprayed this whole house with Lysol to try and kill whatever she had!

Anyway, when she stays at Mom and Dad's Dad puts music on through Yahoo Music on their laptop, and she will watch the video and dance. This is her (and Cassidy's) new favorite song by Katy Perry called Hot and Cold. There are lyrics that say "You're Hot, then you're Cold" and Karenza sings it "Hop in your clothes!" I laugh every time I hear her sing it. You have to listen really close to hear it. She is a dancing queen! This is just a little sample of her. I'll have to get her when she is really into it. It is rather funny. She has been watching Hairspray a lot and been watching their dance moves and been trying to practice off of them.

Not much going on today. I finally took down all my Christmas decorations today, and have been cleaning house and washing clothes. Kind of nice to be at home for a weekend. Although I have been home the last two days with a sick kid I kind of want to get out a little bit so we'll see. Maybe it would do some good for Karenza to get some fresh air too. Got more snow yesterday. I think they said we are up to 54 inches of snow now, and we are to get another 7 inches starting tomorrow night or Monday. There is just no where to put this snow! Wonder if there will be any flooding come March/April! Time will tell I guess. Hope you have a great weekend!!

Karenza will be a Star!

Karenza will be a star at something someday I know. Whether it be at basketball, track, dancing, cheerleading, volleyball, or whatever she chooses. But this girl is fast! Below is a video I was recording of her running around at Randy's boys' basketball game this past weekend (which they won the tournament and are now 4-0 in tournaments!). Anyway, It was during halftime of a game we were watching before Randy's game started and I just thought to start recording her when it was almost over that is why it is so short. You can hear her Dad calling her to come sit down. But she knows when the buzzer rings to sit down. She was just running up and down the court pretending to play basketball. No one else was out there and she was just running. There were about 200 people in the stands and she didn't care! The were all laughing and saying how cute she was. Below is a short video of her running up and down the court! At the end when she is running to sit down just see how fast she goes. A kid behind me who is in 8th grade basketball said "Man she has got some wheels!" She told me and Randy on the way home "There isn't any reason to run, unless you run fast!" I was like wow! Definitely takes after her Dad!! And there are also some pictures of her I took of her running around. You can see how long her legs look too! No wonder I am buying 5 slim pants for her now! Some of the pants I bought her when I started Christmas shopping at the end of November don't fit and I have had to take back. She has went through a major growth spurt this past month. She went from a 4T to a 5 slim! That is two sizes. She never did where a 5T, and only a couple pairs of pants at 4 slim. Anyway, below are some pictures and a short video.
